Niterider Mako 150 Front Light

Once the leaves start falling, you have to consider the fact that your commutes to and from work are almost always going to take place in fairly dark conditions. Even if you are reluctant to plunk too much money down on something that is so utilitarian, the NiteRider Mako 150 Front Light will keep you visible to the traffic you will face while not taking a chunk out of your pocket book. The 150 lumens that the Mako puts out will not only make you visible to the on-coming traffic, the “gills” on either side of the light will reveal a red light that will alert cross traffic to your presence, which could save your life at a poorly lit intersection. There are three settings with a high, low, and flash functions. And since the Mako 150 works off of two easily-accessible AA batteries, your run time will seem almost unlimited, with it lasting an impressive twenty hours on the high mode and a numbing 120 hours on the flash mode. Since any shop or filling station carries AA batteries, you will be able to change them easily even if you are caught short mid-commute. The NiteRider Mako 150 Front Light can be easily attached to your handlebars with a rubberized mounting system that will secure it in place even over rough and worn city roads. Weighing just 175 grams, the Mako 150 will be an unobtrusive but essential addition to your commuting kit.
