Nevermind CD

Nevermind is Nirvana’s second studio album, the record that brought the Seattle trio from underground notoriety into the center of early-’90s rock culture. Released on DGC, it reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, displacing Michael Jackson’s Dangerous and marking a shift in the mainstream appetite for guitar music. “Smells Like Teen Spirit” carries the album’s volatile opening charge, while “Come as You Are” and “Lithium” turn Kurt Cobain’s melodic instincts toward something more restrained and uneasy. Deeper cuts like “Drain You” and “Something in the Way” show the band’s range beyond the singles, from serrated pop movement to stark, hushed tension. Available here on CD.
