Kris has never been touched. He’s about to make up for lost time. Born to a race of creatures who strictly police their presence among humans, Kris possesses a gift only one dragon in each generation may possess—a human form which requires no magic to maintain. But he has paid dearly for this gift, as it has relegated him to a life of monastic solitude, exhaustive training, and an existence devoid of even a casual touch. His destiny has always come first, and now that he’s led a group of explorers to the dragon temple as promised, his purpose is almost fulfilled. All that remains is to ensure each one of them couples with the dragons they were meant to—and then surrender his celibacy and shed his affliction. He has long prepared for the onslaught of rapture required to awaken the dragons’ Queen. What Kris hadn’t prepared for was falling in love, yet the moment he sets eyes on the gorgeous purple dragon awakened by the others’ trespass into the temple, that’s exactly what happens. Can she help guide Kris in the final steps of his journey, or will his desire for her and her alone serve as the distraction that brings them all to ruin?
