Mammoth Ivory and Sterling Silver Bear Pendant This whimsical pendant is inspired by a bear cub’s first fishing trip with its mother. The special event is often a combination of skill (the mother’s) and unabashed curiosity (the cub’s) that may or may not result in a catch. This hanging bear pendant captures the cub’s success with a dangling fish detailed in sterling silver. His cheeky pose and our handmade details create a memorable addition to your jewelry collection. The bear’s body is hand carved from ancient mammoth ivory. This material tells an age-old story dating back millennia to when the great mammoths still roamed the earth. Their tusks have lain buried in the earth or permafrost for upwards of 15,000 years, coming to us whole or in pieces that are used in fine art works and craftsman carvings. To hold a piece of mammoth ivory in your hand is to step back in time. This lovely material makes a fine addition to our hanging bear pendant.
