New Age Painting Knife, #046

PASTRELLO SIGNATURE KNIFE This New Age knife was designed in collaboration between RGM and the noted painter Franco Pastrello. Pastrello's technique makes extensive use of palette knives, so RGM asked him to add a few new shapes to their avant-garde New Age line. This is one of those knives, emblazoned with Pastrello's signature on the handle. NEW AGE PALETTE KNIVES Designed for direct, contemporary painting with a variety of stiff and soft-body media, RGM New Age Palette Knives offer unique effects that would be impossible with conventional knives. New Age knives are made in the same way as RGM's well-known Plus knives, with solid wood handles, brass fittings, and electroplated steel blades. But the shapes go way beyond the traditional catalog, including crown-shaped knives, wobbly curves, and sharply angled knives. All are flexible enough to use on your canvas. Made in Italy. RGM — MADE IN ITALY SINCE 1961. RGM is a family company in Maniago, about an hour's drive from Venice in the northeast corner of Italy. The town of Maniago has been known for many years for its fine cutlery, shears, and blades of all kinds. In the late 1950s, Rosa Gastaldo Mario decided to turn this local expertise into an art supply business, and in 1961 he officially established RGM to supply painting knives to artists around the world. Today, RGM is operated by second and third-generation members of Mario's family. From a small factory in Maniago, they're constantly working with artists to create new shapes and styles — because fine art never stops changing, and new tools are always welcome.
