Nephrite Carved Sphere

This 'puzzle ball' is a traditional Chinese decorative and Feng Shui item hand-carved from a single piece of jade with free-floating inner spheres, symbolizing family unity, prosperity, wisdom, and good fortune, often used for home decor or meditation. Jade is a general term for two distinct gemstones, jadeite and nephrite, which differ in chemical makeup, hardness, rarity, and appearance, with jadeite being the rarer, more valuable, and harder gem often used in fine jewelry, while nephrite is more common, used in carvings, and has a softer, more fibrous texture, both prized in Asian cultures for beauty and symbolism.
