Negative Thinking Patterns

Negative thinking patterns affect young people from time to time. In fact, these unrealistic thoughts tend to occur more frequently in those who have mental health challenges, such as depression and anxiety disorders. Given that awareness is the first step for overcoming these thought patterns, adults play a role in helping kids and teens identify them. This poster shows different cognitive distortions, such as catastrophizing, mind reading, and fortune-telling — and what they mean. Explain each distortion further by providing examples. Offer tips to deal with them as well. *This item is an instant digital download. A link to download your files will be emailed to you once payment is confirmed. Want more resources like this?
