Freddie Mercury, London 1986 | The Iconic Photograph by Neal Preston Neal Preston's legendary photograph was captured during Queen legendary "Magic Tour" on July 12, 1986, standing as testament to both Freddie Mercury's stage presence and the photographers place in Rock and Roll history. Shot from a dramatic low angel behind the frontman in front of a sold-out crowd of over 72,000 fans, Preston immortalizes Mercury in his iconic yellow jacket with his back arched, mid fist-thrust, commanding the massive crowd, just one month before his final performance with the band. This photograph was acquired directly from the photographer himself and features both a hand-written title and date but also his authentic hand signature. While the same image can be found as the feature image used in Queen documentaries, books, biographies, and films, only the artist approved fine art versions bear his signature, and therefore his approval of print quality. This piece has been expertly framed with archival matting and backing to further preserve and protect this archival pigment print photograph, ensuring its longevity and accuracy to the photographers originally approved vision.
