Never fear the ground again, as Travis explains what goes into being an effective and aggressive grappler once the fight hits the tatami. Learn the right ways to use leverage and positioning to hold someone down from all of judo’s classic pins, and how you can escape from bottom if you end up there. Travis goes through all of the most effective ways to turn a stubborn opponent, including the key details that will determine winning and losing (with some that he’s never shared on video before).  Travis, a black belt in both judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, shows all of the best ways to finish the fight by submission, with the gi chokes and joint locks that work on the highest levels. Having studied under professors like John Danaher on the breaking mechanics, Travis shares a conceptual understanding of attacking the submission that even experienced black belts will be learning a lot from, including the keys behind some of his favorite submissions and the moves he used to win at the highest levels of competition. This is a full service instructional series that will help give you a clear understanding of how to not just survive newaza, but how to use it to your advantage. By approaching the mat with the confidence of knowledge and technique, you can turn one of the most overlooked aspects of judo into an area where you hold all the cards. With techniques, escapes, and concepts built around what makes each position unique, you can always have an answer for your opponent’s next steps. This is your chance to learn from Travis Stevens as he explains the clean newaza technique that helped make him one of the best judokas in the world (and then helped him receive his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu from world-renowned Professor John Danaher in just one year of training). Make your newaza a priority with crisp technique and prepared strategies as Travis teaches the moves anyone can learn, and what every judoka needs to reach their competitive potential. With eight volumes packed full of details, this is a can’t-miss for everyone who is ready to level up on the ground. What Exactly Is On This Series?
