Naturalezas vivas

NATURALEZAS VIVAS Juan Antonio Guirado (1932–2010) Naturalezas vivas Circa 1990s Mixed media on paper 50 x 64 cm 19 2/3 x 25 1/4 in Catalog Number: JAG/P 286 – LANDS 02 Provenance Guirado Estate Collection Framing Unframed Price $8,000 Description A striking and atmospheric work, Naturalezas vivas captures the Andalusian landscape as something alive — expansive, elemental, and quietly powerful. Fields of ochre unfold beneath a vast sky, anchored by deep green foreground vegetation that brings both contrast and grounding. The composition carries a subtle tension between abundance and aridity, evoking the dual nature of the land itself. Rather than depicting a specific place, Guirado creates an emotional landscape — one that reflects memory, sensation, and the deeper rhythms of nature. The work resonates with a contemporary sensibility, aligning with the growing desire for art that shapes both space and state of mind.
