Liquid Scour is designed for use with cellulosic fibers. It is important to thoroughly clean cellulosic fibers prior to dyeing, You need to remove not only man-made additives but the natural waxes in the fibers as well. It is also used as part of the degumming process of Silk along with Silkzorb. Scour used in combination with Soda Ash and heat thoroughly cleans cellulose fibers and bast fibers, removing excess wax and other materials which could inhibit the take-up of dye.
