Narcisse

(2022) "Narcisse" (20" x 20") is the 1st drawing in the Reflecting Pool Series, which spotlights the dual chiaroscuro of narcissism. From the inside, the spotlight of an inflated sense of self importance is countered by the shadows of what the outside world sees: a lack of empathy. The skull wallpaper foreshadows mortal flaws and the mirror on the wall emphasizes the reflective nature of the work. This illustration was created using my standard set of mixed media: marker, color pencil, ink, and a touch of acrylic.
