La Méchante (original French title) Etching and drypoint on wove paper, 1920. Reference: Hardie 179. Edition unknown, as it hadn't been published yet when the catalog came out in 1920. Seemingly quite scarce, which makes us presume it wasn't published. A painting with a very similar composition (in reverse), and bearing the same title exists. Signed in pencil, and bearing his blindstamp. NOTE: thanks to Scot Campbell for helping us fill in the details about this work. Our fall 2024 inventory catalog entry was quite approximate. We are always grateful to those who help us improve accuracy.
