N55 Stage 2 High Performance Engine

CarBahn N55 High-Performance Engine – Designed for up to 750TQ Applications The CarBahn ST2 N55 engine is rated for up to 750 lb-ft of torque. It is designed to improve durability for high-output tunes, making it an excellent alternative to an OEM factory remanufactured engine. We utilize high-quality racing components, including Carrillo connecting rods, forged CP pistons, high-performance valve springs, a high-performance head gasket, and cylinder head studs. The crankshaft is secured with CarBahn's dual pin system to ensure the engine stays in time, and the engine is machined to accept a full-circle thrust main bearing. Additionally, the compression is lowered by 0.5 to optimize power for higher boost settings without risking detonation issues. The CarBahn N55 engine is both stronger and more affordable than the BMW OEM factory engine, making it the perfect choice for BMW N55 performance enthusiasts. Steve Dinan's engine shop, with 46 years of experience, has built engines that have won many championships, including three prototype racing championships and two overall wins in the 24 Hours of Daytona (2011-2013). You won’t find a higher-quality engine from any other BMW tuning company. All engines come with a two-year warranty. Experience the power and performance of N55 engine tuning at its finest with CarBahn. While the stock N55 has a relatively high compression ratio due to CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards, this can limit boost performance. To overcome this, the CarBahn N55 reduces compression by 0.5 points, optimizing it for higher boost and maintaining optimal ignition timing—improving performance by preventing premature ignition retardation. This high-performance engine is not only stronger than the OEM BMW N55 engine but is also more affordable. Featuring a complete engine overhaul with blueprinting and balancing, the CarBahn N55 offers a 100% increase in torque over the stock engine. Key Features of the CarBahn N55 Engine: Carrillo Forged Racing Connecting Rods CP Forged Racing Pistons CarBahn Pinned Crankshaft Full Circle Thrust Main Bearing for increased durability Performance Valve Springs for high boost capability Cylinder Head Porting for improved airflow Lowered Compression Ratio to optimize for higher boost Complete Engine Overhaul (Blueprinting & Balancing) The stock N55 engine struggles with high boost due to a known issue with the crankshaft’s timing chain sprocket, which can spin, causing timing problems and potentially catastrophic damage to the engine. CarBahn addresses this by pinning the timing sprocket to the crankshaft and machining the block for a full-circle thrust bearing, ensuring maximum engine reliability under extreme performance conditions. CarBahn Engine Quality & History CarBahn, led by Steve Dinan, has been at the forefront of BMW racing engines since 1977. With 12 racing championships under its belt, including three prototype championships and two 24 Hours of Daytona victories, CarBahn’s engine shop has proven expertise in building both street performance and full-blown racing engines. This legacy of quality and precision means that you won’t find a higher-quality engine from any other BMW tuning company. All CarBahn engines come with a two-year warranty for peace of mind.  Cancer and Reproductive Harm – www.P65Warnings.ca.gov
