MYKITA ALDER Optical

The MYKITA Alder is an optical frame, handmade in Berlin. MYKITA was founded in Berlin in 2003 by Moritz Krüger, Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans and Philipp Haffmans, and still designs and builds every frame at the MYKITA HAUS, its modern manufactory in a landmarked red-brick building on Köpenicker Straße by the Spree. MYKITA MYLON is 3D printed at the Berlin manufactory using selective laser sintering. The hybrid models pair that printed front with a stainless steel structure. The patented spiral hinge is signature MYKITA design, built without screws or welded joints. The frame is built from a MYLON front fitted inside steel rims. Lens width 48mm, bridge 24mm, temple length 137mm. Sintered polyamide flexes and returns to shape rather than holding a bend. Our opticians adjust MYLON with heat in store, the way acetate is fitted. Available at Visionary Optics' three NYC locations with same-day ZEISS prescription lenses, or online.
