Best (My Best With Pride) ~ Subliminal

My Best With Pride — Why does your best effort really matter, or does it? Is it genuinely credible to expect that a person will apply their best to whatever they do? I mean, don’t we all take shortcuts at times, let things go, and hope for the best? Is there really any real cost to doing this? If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well! The fact is, we all tend to let down from time to time, but as Edward Albert put it, “Let us begin by doing our best to do our best, every single time, no matter what, forever.” Doing your best is taking the effort to add that extra little something, even just 1% more, to what you have done in the past. As such, doing your best is all about doing better and better. Leaving the ruts behind, committed to ever improving—that is doing your best! Consider why your best might matter. The first thing that comes to the mind of most is integrity. When we fail to do our best, we undermine our own integrity. When we cheat just a little and fail to try harder, we know we have cheated. We know, even if no one else knows, what we have done. To the extent that we continue in this direction, we directly erode our self-respect—our integrity. A friend, an employer asks, “Well, did you do your best?” Now do we tell them the truth, “No,” or do we lie. The problem with violating integrity is that it spreads its wings into many areas. So now are we committed to lying? "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might… " – Ecclesiastes 9:10. This is excellent advice for all, no matter our endeavor. When we don’t, we cheat ourselves. In so doing, we rob our dignity. Lying, cheating, and stealing go hand in hand, or so the saying goes. Robbing our integrity is the theft of our own self-worth, lying about it adds further ill-dignity cheating ourselves out of self-respect and much more. It matters not whether you’re a student, a plumber, an attorney, doing your best always yields rewards. Not just the praise and influence it builds with others, but honestly earned self-esteem. "If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well" is a saying most of us are familiar with. Bring your best to all of your efforts and see for yourself how much easier it is to achieve your goals. You may be surprised at how good this makes you feel about yourself. Begin today! Sample Affirmations "I am good. I am a gift from the Creator of all. I am blessed. All that I am is a gift.
