My Present This Year

(Run Time: 00:56) In the world of obscure fandoms, there lies an unlikely candidate: the 2009 Folgers commercial titled, innocuously, Coming Home. Having been a fan of this commercial and its V.C. Andrews-ian subtext for many years, I decided to at last enter the halls of the vaunted Coming Home fandom this year and submit my own take on the story... This story was originally written for the Twelve Naughty Days anthology in 2021. Nick is coming home for Christmas, and he only wants two things: A cup of coffee, hot enough to re-glaze the inside of his ceramic mug. Not to see his far-too-gorgeous, far-too-forbidden stepsister. But it's none other than his stepsister opening the door to welcome him home, and there's not enough hot coffee in the world to distract Nick from how much he's tempted to make Nora his own... Sierra Simone (Author) is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling former library employee (who spent too much time reading romance novels at the information desk). Her notable works include Priest, American Queen, and A Merry Little Meet Cute. She lives with her husband and family in Kansas City. Rex Rhys (Narrator): Rex Rhys is, among many things, a linguist and traveler. He looks for adventure in the ordinary, an intriguing conversation, and the pleasures of the soul. He is equally stimulated by the quiet rhythms of nature and the pulse of city streets. But no matter what, he always has a book in hand and a story to tell. Always. You can find him on Instagram @rex_rhys or cutting through the highlands on his motorcycle. Sophie Eastlake (Narrator): Julia Whelan's Audie-nominated romance pseudonym Sophie Eastlake was brought out of retirement for Sierra Simone's New Camelot series. Now this. Heaven help her. jmwhelan.com
