My First Math

My First Math was designed to activate and stimulate neural cells, to enable the brain to function better. Using this book very early in your child’s life will help get your child off to the very best start in life. Math helps to improve logical thinking, and kindergarten plays an important role in starting this process. Things like logical behavior, mathematical processing, and mental organization are necessary for a successful and practical life. Classification, sorting, and quantitative thinking occur daily and in all stages of everyday life. The development of logical thinking in kindergarten requires developing the five senses through many activities. These basic activities start with teaching children to distinguish between things that are different or alike and to develop accurate lingual vocabularies. Incorporating the use of all five senses in the cognition process helps to create mental pictures, which develops environmental recognition, language development, and social interaction skills. Scientists say that the first five years in a child’s life are when the brain is most active. Parents and teachers play the biggest role in helping prepare the child’s brain to think, feel, move and learn. This is the period where you can make the biggest difference in child’s growth and future. At birth, a child’s brain has about 100 billion cells.  Some of these are connected and linked, but most of them are not. During next few years the brain is most active in establishing these connections, which occur through learning and stimulation. Accordingly, My First Math was created for both home and school use. It is an excellent resources for parents who are keen on helping their child get off to the best start.  At birth, the brain lacks information about the world. Information is created through learning. Learning forms neural nets, and frequent stimulation to a group of neural cells activates and stimulates it.  Without stimulation, cell connections do not form, or even go away. The speed and quality of one’s nervous system development (of which the brain is a part) depends on the stimuli it receives from the surrounding environment, and an active environment leads to increased nervous connections. Scientists have learned that there are the periods in life when certain parts of brain can learn information easier at other times.  They call these periods "learning ports." Many of these ports appear and disappear in the first few years of a child’s life.
