My Dad Had That Car

This one-of-a-kind history of the American car is packed with more than 1,300 pages and 12,500 illustrations and is a must-have for every car enthusiast.    My Dad Had That Car is a unique look at 70 years of American automotive ingenuity. Famed auto historian and illustrator Ted Burness documented the American car for decades through his weekly newspaper column Auto Album and his American Car Spotter's Bible catalogs. This comprehensive collection includes decades of genuine, factory-fresh photographs and drawings from Burness’s archives along with fascinating information about original prices, engine sizes, horsepower, and other specifications of collector, luxury, sporting and every day cars.   Organized by era, the book is packed with more than 250 manufacturers and hundreds of individual models that trace the evolution of the American automobile, from the first Model T that rolled off Ford’s first assembly line in 1908 through the art deco streamliners of the ‘30s, to the tail-finned land yachts of the ‘50s, muscle cars of the ‘60s and ‘70s, to the early SUVs of the ‘90s. With an introduction and commentary from automotive journalist Matt Stone of Motor Trend Classic, this unique volume is the perfect gift for every classic car fan.
