Without proper compaction, surfaces may shift, settle, or crack over time, leading to costly failures. For contractors who need a balance between power, maneuverability, and reliability, the MVH128GH Reversible Plate Compactor is one of the most effective solutions available. Part of Multiquip’s Mikasa product line, the MVH128GH is designed with the professional in mind, offering reversible compaction, a trusted Honda GX160 engine, and a durable construction that ensures long-term use. This makes it the ideal choice for medium-duty compaction projects where performance and efficiency matter most. What Is the MVH128GH Reversible Plate Compactor? The MVH128GH Reversible Plate Compactor is a versatile piece of equipment designed for contractors who need more power than a forward-only plate compactor but don’t require the massive weight of heavy-duty reversible units. Weighing approximately 282 lbs (128 kg), the MVH128GH is considered a mid-sized compactor, making it portable enough for job site mobility while still providing the compaction strength needed for granular soils, gravel, sand, and asphalt. Unlike forward-only compactors, the MVH128GH can move forward, in reverse, and remain stationary for spot compaction. This functionality reduces the need for repositioning and increases overall efficiency on the job site. Key Features of the MVH128GH Plate Compactor The MVH128GH comes with professional-grade features designed for durability, efficiency, and operator comfort. 1. Honda GX160 Engine Industry-trusted four-cycle engine known for reliability. Fuel-efficient with easy starting and low emissions. No mixing required—runs on regular unleaded gasoline. 2. Reversible Operation Moves forward, backward, or stays in one place for spot compaction. Perfect for trench work, foundations, and confined spaces. Increases operator productivity compared to forward-only compactors. 3. Strong Compaction Power Generates approximately 5,000 lbs (22.2 kN) of centrifugal force. Capable of compacting soil to depths of 20–24 inches (depending on soil type). Provides a stable base for construction, paving, and landscaping. 4. Durable Base Plate Plate size: 15.7 in. x 33.5 in. (400 mm x 850 mm). Made from high-quality steel for long-lasting durability. Curved edges prevent surface damage while ensuring smooth operation. 5. Operator-Friendly Design Anti-vibration handle minimizes fatigue. Ergonomic controls allow easy switching between forward and reverse. Balanced design improves maneuverability. 6. Low Maintenance and Protection Sealed belt cover protects moving parts from dust and debris. Rugged construction built to withstand heavy job site use.
