multiheart, by Samantha Schwind

Poetry, chapbook, 28 pages, from Bottlecap Features. multiheart is a love letter to longing, echoing the sentiments of ill-fated romance. Through its playful and wide-ranging metaphors, the heart transforms into a candle, a waterfall, a lighthouse, a CrunchWrap Supreme, and more, over and over, always chasing reciprocation and never simply observing the twisting circumstances of its own making. In this collection of micropoems, the heart transcends biological function; it is a shape-shifter, desperate to be anything that might finally be enough. Seeking, beseeching, and reverberative, multiheart is for anyone with a heart that’s tried to be everything but its own. Samantha Schwind is a writer, editor, and poet based in Connecticut.
