Mullein Leaves - Herbal Tea

Mullein (Verbascum Thapsus) is a biennial herb with silvery green, fuzzy leaves and yellow blooms. The foliage can be steeped into a caffeine-free herbal tea that is characterized by a delicate, smooth taste and subtle vegetal hints. The slight, lingering dryness of the brew can be concealed by complementing the leaves with sweeter herbs, such as licorice root, or by adding a touch of sweetener. Caffeine Free  3-8 minutes  203-212 °F  1-2 level tsp./ 6 -8oz serving Tea Notes It is said that Mullein has a long history of being used in traditional medicine to treat lung issues. Based on the taxonomy, it is classified as both an expectorant and demulcent. In terms of expectorants, Mullein aids in clearing out mucus from the chest, while demulcents create a soothing and anti-inflammatory layer on mucous membranes.   Note: It is recommended that you consult your doctor before using herbal tea, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.
