QuietWalk Plus 100SF Roll

Zero VOC, floating floor underlayment with built-in sound and vapor barrier and no anti-microbials Quiet Walk Plus underlayment improves a floor four ways: provides a patented system of moisture protection reducing mold and mildew smooths out little sub-floor imperfections quiets impact sound and floor-to-ceiling noise increases R-value to help keep floors warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer NOTE: This product is normally sold with biocides and fungicides (antimicrobials). We had it specially made for us without these potentially harmful chemicals. Quiet Walk Plus is a unique patented system designed to allow moisture to wick its way out from beneath a floor and into the ambient air. How does it keep moisture from being trapped underneath a floor? It has two layers: the top layer is a tough polyethylene vapor retarder and the bottom is made of synthetic fibers. As moisture comes up through the subfloor, it is automatically absorbed into the porous fibers which naturally wicks its way outwards towards the walls and eventually releases into the ambient air. This system prevents moisture from becoming trapped underneath the flooring and thereby reduces the potential for mold and mildew. There is no odor and it does not off-gas any toxic fumes. PLUS, you don't need any tape for the seams, the roll comes with a factory attached lip and tape system. Quiet Walk Plus underlayment is suitable for use over all types of concrete or wood subfloors, including over radiant heat systems. NOTE: In geographic areas where concrete slabs are subject to excessive moisture, a calcium chloride test is required. Vapor emission readings in excess of 6 lbs. per 1,000 square feet in 24 hours will require additional protections such as a concrete sealant or polyethylene sheeting. [tabs] Why We Like It This is our first choice in underlayment because it offers the only real system for wicking moisture away from the floor. It does everything an underlayment should without the odor, high price and now, without the antimicrobials. Originally this product was made with biocides and fungicides. As these pesticides can potentially leach out, we did not want them for our customers, so we convinced the manufacturer to remove them for us. We are the only company that offers this product without the antimicrobials. Features & benefits Built-in vapor barrier — helps prevent water damage with the use of its absorbent synthetic fibers that wick moisture away from wettest areas Adds R-value — insulates the floor with added R-value of .5. also good for radiant heated floors Sound barrier — reduces ambient noise and floor-to-ceiling sound transmission; outperforms foam, cork, and rubber in most Sound Transmission Loss Tests F-IIC 66, STC 71 Safe — for everyone, even the chemically sensitive; learn how to test a non-toxic product for tolerance Non-toxic — formaldehyde free; zero VOC, odor-free, zero flame retardants, zero BPA, zero Phthalates Recycled content — made from 95% post-industrial recycled fibers No tape needed — overlapping seams are self-adhering with a factory attached lip and tape system, no need to buy lots of tape Versatile — self-sealing tough polyethylene vapor barrier properties mean this can be used with floating and glue-down flooring
