By Heghineh Helen Davidian Movses Amou's Estate tells the story of the Armenians of New Julfa, who were forced by Iranian emperor Shah Abbas in 1604, who deported them from southern Nakhichevan, from the region of Old Julfa, Ghoghtan, and Shirak to pass Arax River and established on the south bank of Zayande-Roud river near Isfahan. Many perished during this deportation. Once established in New Julfa and its vicinities, they started a new life, with their old traditions and values. Navasart Publishing House (1989)
