The Motorola MVME332 is an 8-channel VMEbus intelligent serial communications controller designed for both synchronous and asynchronous communication. It is part of the legacy VMEmodule series, intended for high-reliability industrial, commercial, and military systems. Channels: 8 independent serial channels supporting RS-232C electrical levels. Onboard Processor: Integrated MC68010 CPU (typically 10 MHz) to manage serial I/O independently of the host. RAM: 128 KB of dynamic RAM, expandable to 512 KB in some variants. ROM: Sockets for user-installed firmware or factory-loaded communication protocols. I/O Accessibility: Signals are available at both the front panel and the P2 connector on the backplane. Additional Ports: Variants like the MVME332XTS may include a Centronics-compatible parallel printer port.
