Motorola AARKN4083A Programming and Test Cable

Professional Rear Accessory Interface for CDM and PRO Series The Motorola AARKN4083A is a high-grade programming and test cable designed for professional mobile radios. Unlike standard front-mic programming cables, the AARKN4083A interfaces directly with the radio's rear accessory connector. This allows technicians to program, align, and test the transceiver without disconnecting the front-panel microphone, making it an essential tool for bench testing, service center diagnostics, and complex vehicle installations. As a genuine Motorola Solutions accessory, this cable acts as the critical data link between a Radio Interface Box (RIB) and the radio chassis. It is specifically engineered for the robust MOTOTRBO legacy and Professional Series mobile radios, including the popular CDM and GM families. Its heavy-duty construction ensures stable data transmission during sensitive firmware flashes and frequency alignments, protecting the radio's internal circuitry from communication errors. Key Features & Benefits Rear Connector Access: Enables programming and testing through the rear 20-pin accessory port, keeping the front mic jack free for operation. Dual-Purpose Functionality: Supports both data programming (via RIB) and electrical testing/alignment procedures. Professional Grade Stability: Shielded cabling prevents RF interference from disrupting data flow during the programming process. OEM Precision: Manufactured to exact Motorola specifications to ensure a perfect mechanical fit and proper pin alignment every time. Broad Series Support: The industry-standard cable for maintaining and configuring the CDM, PRO, and GM series mobile fleets. Service Center Essential: A must-have component for any professional radio shop performing internal diagnostics or bench alignments. No. The AARKN4083A requires a Radio Interface Box (RIB) to function. It connects the radio to the RIB, which then connects to your computer via a serial cable. Can I use this for the PM400 mobile radio? Yes, however, use with the PM400 requires the additional FKN8113 adapter. Is this cable returnable? No. Per manufacturer policy, programming and test cables are considered specialized service tools and are not returnable once purchased. Why use the rear port instead of the mic jack? The rear port provides access to additional data pins and audio paths that are sometimes necessary for advanced testing, alignment, and certain firmware configurations that the front mic port may not support. Warranty 1-year manufacturer's warranty.
