Moscot: New York City, Since 1915

MOSCOT: New York City, Since 1915 is a beautifully crafted volume that celebrates 110 years of MOSCOT’s unparalleled craftsmanship, cultural impact, and New York City roots. “You’re not just putting on a pair of eyeglasses when you wear a MOSCOT; you’re putting on a slice of history of downtown New York City,” says Zack Moscot, 5th Generation and Chief Designer. For five generations, the Moscot family has been at the heart of a brand that has evolved from a humble pushcart on the Lower East Side to a global authority in eyewear. “Through the decades, each generation of the Moscot family has brought its own contributions, ensuring that the core values of quality, craftsmanship, and personal service remain steadfast. Our eyewear is not just about seeing better; it’s about being seen in something that tells a story – your story and ours,” share Dr. Harvey Moscot, 4th Generation, and Zack Moscot. MOSCOT: New York City, Since 1915 features rare archival photographs, personal stories, and exclusive insights into MOSCOT’s unique heritage. The book celebrates the brand’s most iconic designs, such as The LEMTOSH frame, while showcasing its cultural relevance through moments like Johnny Depp in Secret Window or Robert Downey Jr. in Oppenheimer. Witty commentary by writer Joel Stein, along with heartfelt testimonials from fans such as actor Paul Rudd and publications Esquire and The Wall Street Journal, further adds depth and personality to the narrative. “This book embodies everything MOSCOT stands for: history, style, and a deep connection to New York City,” says Zack Moscot. The collector’s piece is a must-have for eyewear enthusiasts, design aficionados, and lovers of New York City history.
