The Morris Burton Persimmon is a proven grafted American persimmon tree prized for its early-ripening fruit, cold hardiness, and dependable production. This premium female American persimmon (Diospyros virginiana) is grafted for true genetics and faster fruiting, typically producing fruit in just 2–3 years with proper care and climate. Morris Burton Persimmons produce medium-sized orange-red fruit (1.25–1.5 inches) with a sweet, nutty flavor that is highly attractive to deer and wildlife and excellent for human use. This early-season persimmon variety helps extend the harvest window and provides a valuable food source before many other persimmons ripen. Growing to a mature height of 30–50 feet, this cold-hardy persimmon tree thrives in USDA Zones 5b–9 and offers year-round beauty with strong structure, lush foliage, and ornamental fruit. Persimmons can be enjoyed fresh, dried, or cooked, and are commonly used in jellies, pies, puddings, and beverages. For landowners seeking a high-performing American persimmon tree for deer habitat, wildlife orchards, or home fruit production, the Morris Burton Grafted American Persimmon delivers early production, strong adaptability, and reliable results—the kind of performance Chestnut Hill is known for.
