World Spice Moroccan Mint

World Spice Moroccan Mint World Spice Moroccan Mint captures a centuries-old regional tradition by combining whole-leaf Chinese gunpowder green tea with dried peppermint. Brewers across Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia traditionally prepare this blend in ceramic finjans, often pouring it over small cones of unrefined sugar before serving. The same loose leaf mixture works equally well in modern brewing setups and performs beautifully when served chilled over ice. Why You'll Love It Clean two-ingredient formula with no artificial flavors, extracts, or added sugars Loose leaf cut allows proper expansion for optimal infusion and superior clarity Versatile enough for cultural hospitality rituals or casual daily hydration Mild tannin structure that holds up well when diluted with cold water for iced service Light packaging retains peppermint volatile oils longer than bagged alternatives Brewing Guidelines Measure 2 to 3 teaspoons per 8 oz of water heated to approximately 180°F Steep for exactly 2 to 3 minutes before straining completely Serve hot directly, or strain into a pitcher and chill for refreshing iced tea Brewing Tips Avoid rolling boils; water above 180°F will extract harsh compounds and turn the cup bitter almost instantly If brewing a large batch, keep the leaves submerged for half the usual steep time and concentrate afterward to prevent over-extraction Store the tin or jar away from direct sunlight and heat sources to preserve the essential peppermint oils Who's This For? Home brewers exploring traditional Middle Eastern and North African beverages Tea enthusiasts who prefer loose leaf blends without added flavorings People looking for caffeine-containing hydrating drinks that work well hot or cold Frequently Asked Questions Does this blend require sweetening to taste authentic? No. While traditional Moroccan custom calls for pouring the tea over sugar cones, the blend itself balances the slight earthiness of gunpowder green tea with bright peppermint. Many drinkers prefer it unsweetened or lightly sweetened to taste the natural ingredients. Can I re-steep these leaves? The second infusion will be noticeably lighter. If you want multiple steeps, use slightly less tea per ounce of water and shorten each steep to 60 seconds. What water temperature should I use? Keep the water between 175°F and 185°F. Water that is too hot burns the green tea particles, producing astringent bitterness that overwhelms the peppermint note.
