Mop Fly

The Mop Fly might not look pretty to anglers, but trout absolutely love it. Tied on a stout size 10 hook, this pattern imitates everything from caddis larvae and grubs to aquatic worms and other high-protein food sources tumbling through the current. Its soft chenille body absorbs water and moves naturally underwater, creating an irresistible drifting presentation that consistently produces fish in tough conditions. Whether you’re euro nymphing, tight-lining, or fishing under an indicator, the Mop Fly is a confidence pattern that belongs in every serious trout angler’s box.
