This series introduces six cutting-edge in-house technologies, three advanced DACs, four innovative volume control systems, and a meticulously designed phono stage. Inspired by Canada's strong association with the north, often referred to as "The Great White North," the collection's name perfectly captures its navigational inspiration and pays homage to the country's roots. During the launch of the North Collection, MOON emphasized that these remarkable products are the result of extensive research and development in the fields of audio, electronics, materials, and manufacturing processes. While boasting a fresh design, the North Collection retains the distinctive MOON DNA that fans have come to recognize. From the elegantly milled metal silver shoulders to the prominent volume control dial, these products epitomize the brand's signature aesthetic. Notable design enhancements, such as curved horizontal heatsinks and vents surrounding the new large logo plate, provide a refreshing touch. Comprising six exceptional pieces, the North Collection includes an integrated amplifier, two power amplifiers, a network player/DAC, and two network playing pre-amps. These groundbreaking products incorporate brand new MOON technologies, including the MOON Distortion Cancelling Amplifier (MDCA) circuit, which achieves unprecedented levels of distortion reduction and noise elimination, ensuring an unparalleled audio experience. Additionally, the collection introduces the MOON Damping Base (MDB), which sets new standards for mechanical isolation, and incorporates updated volume technologies that offer ultimate control over audio output. While following the hierarchical numbering system (6xx, 7xx, 8xx; good, better, best), MOON asserts that the North Collection surpasses the performance of its higher-tiered existing products. With their latest offerings, MOON sets a new benchmark for audio excellence, redefining expectations in the industry. At the heart of this extraordinary collection lies the 681 Network Player/DAC. Equipped with the innovative MDE1 re-clocking FPGA and featuring a state-of-the-art DAC implementation, this Roon Ready streamer with MiND2 capability delivers an unparalleled audio experience. The 681 also introduces MOON Hybrid Volume (MHV) technology, which combines digital attenuation and analog gain levels, enabling high-performance volume control even when the 681 is not connected to a MOON preamplifier. This unique feature ensures uncompromised audio quality in the digital domain. To enhance user experience, the 681 comes with the new BRM-1 remote, offering convenient volume control and additional functionalities.
