World Spice Montreal Steak & Chop

World Spice Montreal Steak & Chop Rub World Spice Montreal Steak & Chop delivers a rough-and-chunky spice blend built for robust beef cuts. This Canadian-style rub balances coarse black pepper with aromatic garlic, coriander, and dried onion to form an authentic steak seasoning that enhances meat without masking its natural flavor. Unlike fine commercial seasonings, the chunky texture clings securely to thick proteins while creating a distinct crust during high-heat cooking. Inspired by traditional French seasoning techniques and long-standing British beef traditions, this profile prioritizes straightforward spice-to-meat ratios over artificial additives. Pat your protein dry, apply generously, and allow the abrasive grains to anchor before grilling, smoking, or pan-searing for consistent everyday performance. Why You’ll Love It Rough-cut particles lock onto thick steaks and chops without blowing off during early cooking stages Bold peppery and garlicky notes complement rich beef and pork without overpowering the core flavor Straightforward spice breakdown makes it simple to layer with smoked wood or finish glazes Consistent coarse grind provides reliable coverage across both indoor stovetops and outdoor smokers Best On Ribeyes, strip loins, and filet mignon Pork loin and center-cut chops New York strips and bone-in sirloins Pro Tips Dry-brine the meat 30 minutes ahead so the coarse salt extracts natural juices and pulls the spices deeper into the grain Blend the rub into a full-bodied red wine or dark beer when marinating tougher cuts like flank or flat iron Rest cooked steaks before slicing to let the heavy crust set and redistribute internal moisture FAQ What does this seasoning taste like? It features a heavy base of coarse black pepper and garlic layered with coriander and savory herbs for a classic Canadian profile. Should I rinse it off before cooking? Leave it on. The chunky grind is meant to form a protective, flavorful crust during high-heat grilling or searing. How heavily should I apply it to thick cuts? Coat the surface liberally as directed. The coarse texture ensures even distribution without turning mushy when moist meat contacts the spices.
