Monterey Codling Moth Trap & Lure - 2pk

Monterey® Codling Moth Trap & Lure – 2 Pack is a proven solution for home gardeners and small-scale farmers seeking to protect fruit crops from the destructive codling moth. This pest is notorious for damaging apples, pears, crabapples, and walnut trees, leaving fruit unmarketable and reducing harvest yields. Designed with versatility in mind, these traps can be used as a monitoring system to detect early signs of moth activity or as a mass trapping tool to help reduce populations directly within your orchard or garden. Each trap is equipped with a pheromone lure that specifically attracts male moths. By luring them into the trap, it interrupts the mating cycle and naturally reduces future generations of pests. This method is highly effective, non-toxic, and pesticide free, making it an ideal choice for organic gardeners and those committed to sustainable farming practices. The weather-resistant construction ensures durability throughout the growing season, even in outdoor conditions where consistent performance is critical. Placement and Use Proper placement is key to success. For small orchards or backyard fruit trees, one to two traps may be sufficient for monitoring pest levels. In larger orchards, additional traps should be distributed evenly across the planting to maximize coverage for mass trapping. Hang traps at head height within the tree canopy, and install them early in the season before moth activity peaks. Regularly checking the traps allows you to gauge pest pressure and take timely action to protect your crop. Why Choose This Trap? The Monterey® Codling Moth Trap & Lure is an eco-friendly solution that helps reduce the reliance on chemical sprays, protecting beneficial insects and maintaining soil health. It provides growers with confidence that their crops are safeguarded through a simple, effective, and sustainable method of pest control. By using traps, you not only minimize fruit damage but also support broader ecological balance within your orchard environment. Want to dive deeper into effective, organic ways to manage this pest?
