Moldavite Ring Size 5.5 This ring is made from .925 Sterling Silver. You will receive the exact piece as pictured. Moldavite is a green tektite, formed by the impact of a meteorite or comet in southern Germany about 15 million years ago. This impact created a unique fusion of terrestrial and extraterrestrial materials, resulting in the formation of moldavite glass. The gem is primarily found in the southern regions of Germany and the Czech Republic. Historically, moldavite has been valued for centuries, with evidence of its use in jewelry dating back to the Paleolithic era. Due to its intriguing origin and vibrant green color, moldavite is often associated with spiritual and mystical properties, making it a sought-after material in the creation of unique jewelry pieces. Moldavite possesses distinctive physical characteristics, displaying a rich green color and a unique, often rough surface texture. Its chemical composition includes silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide, with traces of other elements imparting its distinct color. With a hardness ranging from 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, moldavite is relatively durable, though its surface may be susceptible to scratches due to its natural texture. The gem is treasured not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its perceived metaphysical properties, believed by some to enhance spiritual growth and transformation.
