Sun Defense 50

Sun Defense 50 is a broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen built for daily use in an active skincare routine — meaning it's formulated to protect without breaking out, pilling under makeup, or leaving the chalky white cast that makes people skip sunscreen in the first place. The formula uses titanium dioxide as a physical (mineral) UV blocker, providing broad-spectrum protection against both UVA rays (which cause aging and pigmentation) and UVB rays (which cause burning). Physical blockers work by reflecting UV light rather than absorbing it chemically, making them a better-tolerated option for sensitive, reactive, and acne-prone skin. Titanium dioxide is also notably resistant to photodegradation — it doesn't break down under UV exposure, maintaining its protective efficacy throughout the day. Available in 100ml (3.3oz) for daily use and 60ml (2oz) for travel and on-the-go. Why sunscreen is non-negotiable in any active skincare routine: If you are using any exfoliating acid (Reset, Refine, Relief, Salicylic Toner), Vitamin A (Resurfacer), or brightening treatment (Even Tone), sunscreen isn't optional — it's what makes those products work. UV exposure darkens post-inflammatory marks, counteracts brightening actives, breaks down retinoids, and causes the kind of cumulative photodamage that creates the skin concerns most people are trying to treat. No SPF = your entire evening routine is fighting uphill. What it does: - Provides broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection against UVA and UVB rays - Prevents UV-induced photodamage, premature aging, and hyperpigmentation - Protects and extends the results of your active skincare treatments - Non-greasy, moisturizing formula that works as the final AM routine step - Titanium dioxide formula is suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin Who it's for: Sun Defense 50 is designed for all skin types as a daily AM skincare final step. It's especially important for anyone using exfoliating acids, retinoids, or brightening treatments — which increase UV sensitivity significantly — and for skin managing hyperpigmentation, where UV exposure actively worsens the concern being treated. How to use: Apply as the last step of your morning routine, after moisturizer and before makeup. Use approximately ¼ teaspoon for the face (most people use far too little — underapplication reduces SPF efficacy dramatically). Reapply every 2 hours during prolonged sun exposure. Do not rely on SPF in foundation or powder as a substitute — coverage is inconsistent. AM routine position: Balance Wash → Calming Mist → [AM serum if any] → Fonte → HydraGel or Repair → Sun Defense 50 Frequently asked questions: *Will Sun Defense 50 cause breakouts? The formula is designed to be non-comedogenic and acne-safe. Titanium dioxide is one of the better-tolerated physical blockers for acne-prone skin. If you've had breakouts from sunscreen before, they were most likely from a chemical sunscreen or a poorly formulated physical one. *Do I need SPF even if I work indoors? Yes, if you're near windows. UVA rays (responsible for aging and pigmentation) penetrate glass. UVB rays do not. Daily SPF prevents cumulative photodamage regardless of whether you're outdoors. *What's the difference between 60ml and 100ml? Content is identical. 100ml is the full-size daily-use bottle; 60ml is travel-friendly and fits within airline carry-on liquid limits. *Can I use Sun Defense 50 on my body? Yes, though the face formula is optimized for facial skin. For larger body areas, a body-specific sunscreen may be more economical.
