Erika Moen Art Book

When not drawing comics, Erika Moen spends her time creating mixed-media collage-y paintings of vegetables and sex toys and octopuses and women and women who are part vegetable and/or octopus. Heavily inspired by medieval portraits of saints and religious figures, Moen portrays vegetables and sex toys with the same reverence and elevation of holiness. Which is the Pretentious Artist’s Statement way of saying she really loves medieval portraits and plants and sex toys, so she smooshed them all together because she’s an American and that’s how she exercises her freedom. These paintings are neat, you will probably like them.
