The GPS-40RSS measures 11.5 inches, making it an excellent choice for middle infielders (SS, 2B) and corner infielders (3B) who need a compact, responsive pocket for fast ball security and accurate throws. It is not recommended for outfield use. How does the UV color-changing Runbird wrist logo work? The Solar Shift Runbird logo is treated with UV-reactive technology. It displays as White under normal indoor or shaded outdoor lighting. When exposed to direct UV sunlight, it shifts to a vibrant Purple — automatically and instantly. Move out of direct sun and it returns to White. No batteries, no charging, no activation required. What leather is the Mizuno GPS-40RSS made from? Mizuno constructed the GPS-40RSS with their proprietary Steer-Hot Leather — a premium cowhide designed for a faster-than-average break-in period while maintaining the structural firmness and longevity needed for a full competitive season. It performs well right out of the box and continues to improve with use. What web style does the GPS-40RSS feature? The GPS-40RSS uses Mizuno’s Deep 3 Web design with outline embroidered Runbird logos worked into the web. The deep pocket profile provides reliable ball security on hard-hit grounders and line drives, while supporting the quick, clean transfers infielders need at every level of play. Does this glove need to be broken in before games? Mizuno Steer-Hot Leather is engineered for a faster break-in experience than many premium leather gloves. Apply a light coat of Mizuno glove oil or conditioner, work the pocket by hand, and play catch regularly. Most players have the GPS-40RSS game-ready within a few sessions. The glove’s structure continues to conform to your hand throughout the season. Does Smash It Sports price match on Mizuno gloves? Absolutely.
