Mizunara Oak Chips (Japan) 1lb

Introducing our Mizunara Oak Chips, an exquisite addition to elevate your whiskey. Sourced from the revered Mizunara or Japanese Oak, these chips undergo a meticulous roasting process at 374°F, unveiling a rich and distinctive flavor profile. Imported directly from Japan's exclusive cooperage, our Mizunara Oak Chips are a rare treasure. Sustainably harvested from endangered Mizunara trees in the pristine landscapes of Northern Japan's Hokkaido prefecture, each tree reaches an impressive 200 years of age before being carefully selected for harvest. This stringent criterion ensures that only the largest trees, capable of producing straight wood suitable for crafting barrel staves, are chosen. Our wood chips make use of every ounce of this delicious wood. What sets Mizunara Oak apart is not only its scarcity but also the unique character it imparts to spirits. Known for its complex and aromatic qualities, Mizunara-aged whiskeys often boast notes of sandalwood, vanilla, coconut, and a subtle spiciness that adds layers of depth to every sip. 5g of chips per liter will provide flavor quickly in under one month. If you plan to age your spirit for many months you might try 2g per liter. If aging for years 1 gram per liter will impart a pleasant finish. Imbue your spirits with the essence of Japanese craftsmanship and heritage, as this wood tells a story of centuries-old trees and the artistry involved in their preparation. Elevate your distilling or aging process with Mizunara Oak Chips – a testament to your dedication to quality, tradition, and the pursuit of exceptional flavor. Explore the unparalleled richness that Mizunara Oak brings to your spirits, and let your creations stand out with an unparalleled, sophisticated charm.
