About This Style Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, and distressed surface treatments. Distressing results from decades of use and overdyeing, a process where a rug is submerged in a single-colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash. Medallion rugs feature a dominant central circular or diamond-shaped motif, a hallmark of classical design, often rendered in geometric forms and framed by a distinct border. Where It Works The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, or kitchens. Its profile is compatible with underfloor heating systems and allows for layering over larger carpets. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a prominent central medallion motif with a distressed, overdyed turquoise finish that highlights the original pattern's ghost-like texture. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; the cotton provides breathability, while the polyester adds durability, moisture resistance, and suitability for everyday use. — The flatwoven construction ensures a no-shed, low-pile surface that remains stable underfoot and facilitates easy maintenance. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Highly versatile for high-traffic zones, this piece is underfloor-heating safe and features a reversible weave for balanced wear.
