The fork is longer, as it is designed for a larger bun and thicker hair. I don't recommend it for fine hair. The Technical Details The 'stone' is lampwork glass is set in sterling and fine silver. The forks are nickel. This is a one of a kind piece. The setting is 1-9/16 inches tall and 1-3/16 inches wide. The fork is finished to a usable length of 5 inches.
