Mission Darkness™ Core Ferrite Series

DESCRIPTION SPECS USAGE MISSION DARKNESS™ CORE FERRITE SERIES The Mission Darkness Core Ferrite Series offers a versatile lineup of clip-on ferrite cores (also referred to as ferrite sleeves) designed to suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) and noise filtering across a wide range of frequencies, cable types, electronic systems, and environments. Ferrite cores are passive electronic components made from ceramic compounds with nickel-zinc, and a protective ABS snap enclosure casing with internal locking teeth. The design allows them to snap open and closed repeatedly without degradation. Each ferrite includes side slots for zip ties or panel mounting. All of our ferrites feature a round center, which allows them to fit snugly around cables and wires. The outer shape—whether circular, square, or octagonal—varies for both functional and ergonomic reasons: Circular Exterior: Offers a compact, low-profile form factor. Ideal for tight spaces or when a smooth, uniform shape is preferred for aesthetics or handling. Square Exterior: Provides flat surfaces for easy stacking, mounting, or labeling. This shape is often used in structured installations where ferrites are secured alongside other components. Octagonal Exterior: Designed for enhanced grip and tool-assisted installation. The angled surfaces make it easier to handle and apply torque, especially when installing onto thicker cables or in hard-to-reach locations. Whether you’re outfitting a digital forensics workspace, setting up secure communications, managing electronics in an RF-sensitive environment, reducing power line noise, eliminating buzz from audio systems, or improving shielding in sensitive electronics setups, these ferrites provide a tool-free, effective solution to ensure cleaner, more reliable signals. Check the internal diameter of each variation to choose the best ferrite for your cable size and application. Each ferrite type is available individually or as part of a 5-piece set, giving you the flexibility to select exactly what you need—or try multiple options to see what works best for your setup. FEATURES Reduces EMI & RFI Interference: Suppresses electromagnetic and radio frequency noise traveling along power, data, or signal cables. Clip-On Ferrite Sleeve Design: Easy-to-use split-core sleeve clips directly onto existing cables—no need to disconnect or modify wiring. Multiple Inner Diameter and Outer Shapes Available: Offered in circular, square, and octagonal outer housings with varying inner diameters to suit various cable management setups, grip preferences, and installation environments. Durable Housing: Tough plastic casing protects the ferrite core and resists cracking from repeated use or field deployment. Supports Cable Looping: Allows for multiple cable passes through the core to boost interference suppression when needed. Tool-Free Installation: Quickly clips into place without requiring special tools or hardware—ideal for field use and on-the-go adjustments. Passive, Maintenance-Free Operation: Requires no power or upkeep; a long-term solution for noise reduction in sensitive electronics. Versatile Applications: Perfect for digital forensics kits, IT labs, RF shielding projects, industrial machinery, and mission-critical communication setups. Lab Tested for Performance: Ferrites are independently tested to ensure high noise attenuation across a wide frequency range. COMMON USE CASES Suppressing power supply noise in forensic, lab, and field environments Reducing buzzing in audio or amplifier systems Cleaning up EMI from HDMI, coaxial, and Ethernet lines Improving signal isolation in shielded enclosures Reducing emissions from USB chargers, wall warts, and external drives Protecting mission-critical or RF-sensitive equipment HOW TO USE FERRITE CORES Identify the cable with EMI-related issues. Choose the correct ferrite size based on your cable diameter. Open the housing and lay the cable on the core. If desired, loop the cable around so that it goes through the core again. Close the housing and pull the cable so that the loop tightens. Snap shut until fully closed and secure. (Optional) Secure with a zip tie through the side holes for added retention. FOR BEST PERFORMANCE Place the ferrite close to the interference source (e.g., near a power brick or device input). Try multiple positions or double ferrites on longer cables or stubborn interference. Don’t hesitate to test different ferrites—results vary depending on device, cable length, and frequency.
