Kalmia latifolia 'Minuet' Don’t let the gorgeous flowers fool you, the Mountain Laurels are also prized for their finer-textured evergreen foliage. This dwarf is great for foundation plantings or small gardens, and the textured white with red-maroon spotted band contrasts with its own pink flower buds. Measuring 3 feet tall by 3 feet wide, this mounded shrub does best in hardiness zones 4 through 9. Be sure to use a well drained soil medium when planting any Mountain Laurel as they prefer less watering than you might think. In NC our soil is clay so we prefer to use pine bark soil conditioner when planting Camellia, Rhododendron, Mountain Laurel, and Azalea. Minuet will begin shipping on March 1st, 2025.
