Minots light lighthouse model set onto a ledge. Exceptional model with all stones shown in the proper scale. The top has railings, boat davits, lantern room, spire, etc. From 1851 to 1860 a lightship replaced the tower at Minots Ledge. Work on the new stone tower began in 1855. The new Minots Light was designed by General Joseph G. Totten of the Lighthouse Board, and it has been called the greatest achievement in American lighthouse engineering. Weight: 37 lbs.
