Minimedaljong, Black - 353-99

Collection Modern Classics Minimedaljong, Black Item: 353-99 “Minimedaljong” (mini medallion) is a wallpaper style that emerged in the second half of the 19th century, during a time of significant change in manufacturing and interior design. Its development is closely linked to the shift from individually printed wallpaper sheets to continuous rolls around 1864, which made wallpaper more affordable, consistent, and easier to install. The style features small, repeating decorative motifs—often inspired by classical medallions, florals, or simple geometric forms—arranged in a neat, uniform pattern. Compared to earlier, larger-scale designs, “Minimedaljong” offered a more subtle and refined look, making it well suited for a variety of interior spaces. It reflects the broader trend of combining traditional ornament with the efficiency of industrial production.
