The instrument follows the traditional military bugle profile, featuring a conical bore that expands through a single oval coil of tubing before flaring into a wide, open bell. There are no valves — this is a natural bugle, producing tones through lip pressure and breath control alone.  About This Instrument The bugle is one of the oldest and most recognizable brass instruments in the world, with roots in military signaling traditions across Europe and beyond. Natural bugles without valves were the standard for military communication throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, used to relay commands across battlefields and parade grounds.  Care & Maintenance To keep the brass finish looking its best, wipe down the instrument after each use with a soft, dry cloth to remove fingerprints and moisture.
