Mini Backgammon

Backgammon that travels without compromise. Unlike digital games, these sets create a tactile, face-to-face experience you share with someone in the moment — and the design lets you pause and resume without breaking the game. Mini Backgammon delivers a tactile, real-world playing experience — something digital games can't replicate — so you can play anywhere without sacrificing quality or continuity of play. Tactile by design Weighted magnetic pieces respond to your hand, not a screen. The satisfying click of backgammon checkers on board. The feel of a real game, wherever you are. Sized just right Compact enough to fit in your bag. Large enough that you're not fumbling pieces or knocking neighbors when you move. A travel size that maintains effortless, enjoyable play. Play that moves with you Pause mid-game, roll it up, and continue later — the board stays exactly as you left it, so the conversation doesn't have to stop. ✓ Free US Shipping  ·  ✓ Arrives in ~1 Week  ·  ✓ Lifetime Warranty  · ✓ 30-Day Returns Not a Travel Compromise Most portable backgammon sets feel like cheap disposable toys — flimsy boards, pieces that slide or tip, designs meant to be packed rather than played. VentureBoard Mini Backgammon was designed around a different principle: a travel set should play like a real set. The pieces have weight. The magnets hold position. The board lies completely flat when open. And unlike every other portable backgammon set, you can roll it up mid-game and pick up exactly where you left off — position intact, game preserved. Roll to Pause. Resume When You're Ready. This is the feature that changes how people think about travel backgammon. When you need to stop — for a flight, a meal, or because the afternoon ran out — you roll the board closed. The pieces stay where they are. The magnetic bond between each checker and the board holds position through rolling, carrying, and packing. When you return, you unroll and continue from exactly where you left off. No photograph of the board required. No reconstruction from memory. The game is preserved. This is what “continuity of play” means in practice. It is not a marketing phrase. It is a functional advantage that no standard folding board or rigid carrying case can match. The Game That Goes With Conversation Backgammon isn't about silence and concentration. It's the game you play while catching up — over coffee, over drinks, on a slow afternoon that doesn't need to be rushed. The shake of dice in your hand. The clatter when they land. The rhythm of play that leaves room to actually talk to the person across from you. These are things no app or screen can replicate. It's been played this way for 5,000 years. VentureBoard just makes it easier to bring along. Why Roll-Up Outperforms Folding The majority of portable backgammon boards use a folding case design — two rigid panels hinged at the center, pieces stored inside. The board folds flat for transport. The folding format has real limitations. The hinge creates a raised ridge down the center of the board. Over time, hinges warp and the board no longer lies flat. Storage inside the case means removing all pieces before transport and setting them up again on arrival. The roll-up format eliminates those problems. No hinge. No ridge. The board lies completely flat when open. The flexible substrate rolls cleanly without creasing or warping. Pieces remain on the board during transport — there is no setup or teardown between sessions. For players who travel regularly or play across multiple sessions, the operational difference is significant. ADD TO CART ↑ Magnetic Stability for Active Environments The neodymium magnets embedded in each checker create a direct bond with the metal-embedded board surface. This holds pieces in place through normal transport conditions — in a backpack, carry-on bag, or rolled under an arm. The practical result: you can pick up a game in the morning, pack the board without disturbing a single piece, carry it on a plane, and unroll at your destination to continue from the same position. This is the mechanical basis for everything VentureBoard Mini Backgammon does differently. The magnets are not a novelty feature. They are the foundation of the roll-to-pause system. Screen-Free Play In a landscape of backgammon apps and online platforms, there is still value in sitting across from another person with nothing between you but a board and a pair of dice. No battery. No notifications pulling focus. No algorithm tracking your moves. VentureBoard Mini Backgammon is a physical board. The interaction is direct. The feedback is tactile. The game belongs entirely to the players at the table. For travel games, slow afternoons, and any moment worth being present for — the absence of a screen is not a limitation. It is the point. Built for Repeated Use This is not a board you play once and shelve. The durable construction is designed for ongoing, regular play across a wide range of environments. The interlocking rib structure along both edges protects the board when rolled and provides a secure closure. The board surface resists wear from repeated rolling and unrolling. The magnetic pieces maintain their hold strength over time. Every VentureBoard Mini Backgammon ships with a lifetime warranty — because equipment built for serious use should be backed accordingly. More Opportunities to Play the Game You Already Love You know why backgammon matters. You don't need convincing. What you need is a set that actually gets used — one that fits in your bag, travels without hassle, and lets you pick up a game right where you left off. VentureBoard Mini Backgammon doesn't change the game. It removes the reasons you're not playing it. More games. More places. More moments across the board from someone worth playing.
