This particular gem is a superb example of faceted Ametrine as it is not only large, but it has excellent color saturation, eye-clean clarity and unique concave faceting. The name of the cut on this stone is a "Quantum Octagon", and it has some extra brilliance due to the fact that the facets on the pavilion are concave and actually are cut INTO the underside of the stone. This creates a dazzling effect and allows a gem like Quartz - which doesn't have a terribly high refractive index - to really sparkle in even moderate lighting. Rarely do we have gems this size with such fine clarity, rich color and unique cutting.
