Cuprite on copper-bearing Dolomite

Here we have a wonderful matrix specimen of Cuprite featuring a sharp, well-formed, dodecahedral crystal group of a dark metallic red hue measuring 1.2 cm aesthetically perched atop matrix and associated with mint-green colored copper-bearing Dolomite. With strong backlighting, the Cuprite shows a slight bit of translucency around the edges, revealing a brighter red color. The combination of Cuprite with copper-bearing Dolomite is RARE from Tsumeb, and I've only seen a few pieces of the material over the years. This one is certainly the finest quality and showiest example with the Cuprite crystal group sitting prominently atop the specimen.
