Corundum (var: Sapphire) (doubly terminated "floater" crystal)

Some of the finest quality crystals of Sapphire in the world are those from various localities in Sri Lanka. The combination of excellent sharp, euhedral crystals along with a beautiful range of colors puts them in the upper tiers for Sapphire crystals from anywhere. This piece is a fine quality, very sharp (not rounded or water worn), rather lustrous, well-formed, euhedral, hexagonal, striated, doubly terminated "floater" crystal with a lovely blue color and good internal gemminess. While the majority of the crystal is blue in color, there are some zones of yellow and golden-brown colors that can be seen as well. I love the tapered form and "stepped" growth along the length of the crystal. No major damage anywhere.
