This thin elongated piece of Copal arguably has the highest "population density" of insects of any specimen in the lot as there are approximately 100 ambrosia beetles (Platypodidae) and a few midges (Diptera). The beetles look like they're marching almost like ants, and the midges make for a great contrast against the "rice grain"-esque beetles frozen inside. One of my favorite pieces in the lot especially because the internal clarity is so fine that you can see right through to the insects trapped within. Specimen # AMBER51707
